Once we have met the parents/carers and pupil and have received all relevant information from the referring school, the young person will be required to complete some baseline tests. These usually last no longer than two hours and are important in providing an accurate assessment of the pupil’s reading, writing, comprehension and maths skills. Following this, the pupil is ready to start their journey at the CPA. If the referral is made mid-way through a term, then they will be educated by our CITE (Customised Individual Therapeutic Intervention) team at Bishops Wood. This is a four day provision and is supplemented by one day of Outdoor Education.

At the beginning of the following half-term, the pupil will start full-time at the main CPA site. Further details about this provision can be found by reading the brochures in the ‘referral process’ section of the website.
